** Chloe Atkinson/Amy Nuttall Biography **

Former Bury Grammar school pupil Amy Nuttall Amy (18) turns heads at the Woolpack as feisty career girl Chloe Atkinson. The teenage starlet left Bury Grammar at the age of 13 to take up studies at the Arts Educational School in Hertfordshire. But her decision to pack in A-levels to concentrate on her stage and screen career has paid off handsomely. She earned the chance to play the part of Chloe after a successful screen test with Emmerdale actors Mark Charnock (Marlon) and Sheree Murphy (Tricia).

"Chloe's the sort of character who's disliked by most of the girls," said Amy, of Lostock. Bolton.

"She's a bit of a sex kitten. She's quite flirty with the boys but she's very intelligent, career-minded and worldly-wise," she added.

Capturing the TV role has capped a startling 18-months for Amy. In 2000 spring she beat hundreds of talented hopefuls to win her first profilesessional role in Phantom of Opera. She understudied as lead character Christine in the acclaimed touring production and performed the lead role some 30 times, most recently at Manchester Opera House, despite being the youngest actor in the show.

"I've been extremely lucky considering Phantom was the first theatre job I went for and Emmerdale the first TV job I' ever auditioned for," she said.

"My friends and family are absolutely thrilled for me. It's all I have ever wanted to do. I wanted the Emmerdale part so badly as soon as I found out about it.

"I was sad to leave Phantom because I've had the most amazing time travelling all over the country, but they allowed me to finish my contract early so I could begin filming."
